Urgent appointments

Urgent conditions are available for booking daily from 8:00am onwards. These may be with any Doctor or Nurse. If your medical condition is urgent and we are unable to accommodate you within 24 hours, you may be offered a telephone consultation with a doctor or nurse. Receptionists may need to take a few details of the problem and a contact telephone number prior to booking an urgent/emergency appointment. Be assured that our receptionists are trained personnel and abide by strict rules of confidentiality. They can be very helpful in offering advice or alternative appointments with other healthcare professionals. Your co-operation with their enquiries would be appreciated. Please be aware that emergency appointments are for emergency/urgent conditions only and any routine problems should be addressed at a separate routine appointment.

One appointment should be made for each patient that needs to see a Doctor. Each appointment is 10 minutes long. If you have a number of issues to address please let reception know so we can arrange an extended appointment. If you cannot keep your
appointment or it is no longer needed, please telephone and cancel the appointment.

Even at short notice, the appointment can be offered to someone else. If you are more than 15 minutes late for an appointment you may not be able to see the doctor that day.

Telephone contact with the Doctors or Nurses is available between 12:30-13:30. Please request a telephone consultation when booking an appointment. The doctors and nurses do their best to be available for this service but this can be affected by the morning surgery

Your call may not be returned until later in the day. Receptionists are instructed not to interrupt the Doctor when surgery is running as it can be upsetting for the patient being seen. Please leave a message with the receptionist and we will call you back if your
enquiry is urgent and outside of these times.
